Parenting is a wonderful blessing from God, but a huge responsibility.  God has chosen you to be the parent of the child or children in your family.  He chose you for this responsibility.  Children do not come with an instruction book; however, there is help available in our guidebook, the Bible.  Our goal at Oak Dale Baptist Church is to help you lay strong foundations to guide your child into a lifelong relationship with Jesus.  We realized the challenges that are before us and also know that our God is able to do all things.  He wants us to be successful as parents; however the world and its obstacles often take their toll on lives.  We welcome the opportunity to partner with you as your family grows.

The celebration of a new life is so exciting and reminds us of how special children are.  They are the generation that will share His truth with the world in the future.  I know our relationship in Christ will grow as we celebrate the birth of each new member at ODBC and we anticipate the new work we will establish together.  God is awesome and He has great plans for us together.  God has allowed our paths to cross and I Know He has a purpose for each of us.  In His word the Psalmist reminds us “You chart the path ahead of me, and tell where to stop and rest.  Every moment you know where I am.” (Psalm 139:3 TLB)

Child Dedication Service

Parents have the opportunity to make a public commitment of their desire to raise their child in a Christian environment.  During the dedication service parents bring their infant, toddler, or young child to the front of the sanctuary.  The Pastor leads both the parents and the congregation as we band together to support the parents as they commit to raise their child in a manner that honors God and that teaches the child to rely on God, to love Him, and to live for Him.
